Community consultation sessions are being held around Australia on the establishment of a new agency focused on veteran wellbeing – a recommendation from the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
The consultation will be led by an experienced facilitator and hosted by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. The sessions are an opportunity for the veteran community to help shape the new agency, which will be established with the needs of veterans and families at its core.
Sessions will be held over the coming months and will be used gather the diverse perspectives of the veteran community on what the new agency should do, and how it should undertake its responsibilities in supporting the transition of veterans to a rich and rewarding civilian life, as well as supporting the overall wellbeing of veterans and families.
Sessions are in-person and numbers are limited. Registration is required for attendance. The specific event location will be provided following registration.
Light refreshments will be available at each session.
