Congratulations to Ella Beckwith, the recipient of the 2024 Ted Smout Youth Award!
This honour is presented annually by Legacy Brisbane to recognise young people who excel against the odds, demonstrating outstanding personal, community, and educational achievements.
Ella joined the Legacy family in 2007 at just 7.5 months old after losing her veteran father. Since then, she has been an inspiring figure, dedicating herself to Legacy’s mission. As a Youth Leader and ambassador, Ella has supported younger children who have also lost a parent, and she’s been a familiar face at many Legacy events and campaigns.
Her dedication to her studies, leadership roles, and active participation in Legacy activities have made an unparalleled impact on those around her. From public speaking engagements to leading youth camps, Ella has embodied resilience and commitment. Now, as she completes Year 12 and prepares to pursue a degree in Social Work, Ella continues to set a shining example for others in our community.
We are proud of Ella’s achievements and the remarkable role model she has become. Congratulations once again, Ella, on this well-deserved honour!
